Mainalon Trail Expedition

Embark on three days of hiking through the most breathtaking section of the Mainalon Trail. The journey begins in "Stemnitsa", a traditional stone-built village that feels timeless, before descending into the "Lousios Gorge". The trail follows the sound of the river, winds through chestnut and plane forests, crosses old stone bridges, and leads to the hidden "Philosofou Monastery", carved into the rocks. From there, the path rises toward **Dimitsana**, a village with a unique character and sweeping views of the gorge. On the second day, the route takes you deeper into the mountain, through endless fir forests and the village of "Zygovisti", before reaching "Elati" at 1,643 meters altitude — where the air feels crisp, the silence is profound, and the sense of freedom is at its peak. The third day completes the adventure with a hike toward "Vytina", a lively village full of warmth and tradition. Every day on the mountain feels different: at times filled with the sound of rushing water and forest life, at others offering panoramic views that take your breath away, and often with the sense that you’re walking the very same paths once taken by monks and travelers centuries ago. At the end of each day, the experience is rounded out with authentic hospitality ''local cuisine prepared with care'' and "comfortable accommodation" that restores you for the next stage.
